We're a Taunton-based grounds maintenance contractor built for commercial work. On those sites, compliance, reliability and a clear standard matter as much as a tidy finish. Trading since 2005, directly employed, fully insured, and straightforward to deal with.
Who we are
Twenty years of building toward the work that matters most.
Avery Grounds has been maintaining commercial grounds across Somerset, Devon and Dorset since 2005. Over that time we've grown from local roots into a contractor trusted with high-compliance, high-value sites — while keeping what made us reliable in the first place: our own teams, a local base, and a straightforward way of working.
We focus on commercial contracts — managing agents, estates, later-living, healthcare, education and infrastructure. That's why we invest in what those clients need: documented health and safety, photo-reported visits, and named teams who turn up and do what they said they would.
We're part of the local economy. Our teams are recruited from the Taunton and Wellington area, we've trained three horticulture apprentices in-house over the years, and we're steadily moving to battery-powered kit where it's up to the job.
We're not the cheapest, and we don't try to be. We're the contractor you choose when the grounds matter, the site is sensitive, and you need to be able to prove the work was done to standard.
A word from the owner
I started Avery to do grounds maintenance the way I'd want it done — properly, safely, and without the excuses. Two decades on, that hasn't changed. When you call us, you're dealing with a team that takes real pride in the work and stands behind it. That's the whole point.

Incorporated as Avery Gardens Limited as the commercial side grew.
Retained a dedicated H&S partner and gained SafeContractor approval. Photo reports and quality audits formalised into one system on every contract.
